Welcome to the Thurgoona Easy Art Lessons (TEAL)
with Graham Wade

Have you ever wanted to learn to draw or paint but didn’t know where to start?

Maybe you have tried learning using books, magazines, videos or DVDs and found it too difficult.

If you live in the Albury Wodonga Region and you have a few hours free on Mondays, there is
good news ahead
.

Thanks to some recently acquired funding, the Thurgoona Community Centre is able to offer
Art Classes for up to 10 people
(maybe 12 at a stretch) at a really reasonable price.

More Information about TEAL

My name is Graham Wade.  If you would like to know more about who I am, Click HERE,..
I was the Art Tutor for the Art, Craft and Activities Group (ACAG)used to meet at the
Mirambeena Community Centre until it ceased operations on 22nd March 2024.  The ACAG had an amount of funding that, upon their closure, was transferred to the Thurgoona Community Centre.

The Thurgoona Community Centre has funding that should run the Art Classes for the rest of 2024.

The classes will be over terms of 6 weeks and will finish 2024
with a possible final fourth term of about 8 weeks

To make these lessons easy to remember, I am calling them the Thurgoona Easy Art Lessons, giving them the acronym of TEAL, a greenish-blue colour.

The TEAL classes will be for anyone who wishes to learn how to draw or paint, with lessons suited for beginners to the more intermediate artists.

Basically, the lessons will feature mostly easy painting/drawing projects, with some challenging aspects thrown in to help you advance to higher skill levels.

While the classes will focus mainly on watercolour painting, it will also have a focus on basic drawing & painting techniques.

We will be using Watercolour because it dries faster, is one of the least messy mediums, and it doesn’t have the strong odours of oil painting.

I can also guide you through any issues you may have with any aspects of drawing using graphite pencils, charcoal, coloured pencils, etc., and I can help you either getting started with Oil or Acrylic Painting, or move onto a higher skill level in these mediums, and, to a lesser extent, Pastel painting.

To recap, the classes will be on a
Monday morning
from 11:00am to 3:00pm
with the main learning part of the classes
being the three hours from 11:30 to 2:30pm,

making it ideal if you have children at school.

The fee for the 2024 classes will be a low $15 per week,…
For this year, you only pay if you attend the classes.

I think you will find, if you do your research, this is perhaps the
lowest-priced Art Class in the Albury Wodonga Region.

The third Term started on
Monday 12th August 2024

at the
Thurgoona Community Centre’s Hall,
10 Kosciusko Road, Thurgoona, New South Wales.

The lessons will be held over set terms of 6 weeks and may have a couple of extra weeks at the end of the fourth term, taking them into early December 2024.

I can only take 10 people from the Albury Wodonga and surrounding areas into the class, maybe 12 at a stretch.

If you add your details into the form below, I will contact you to see if you are still interested in attending the TEAL Classes.

As such, I will be keeping a list of "reserve" places in case some people stop attending the classes throughout the year.

Please note that the classes will be restricted to 10 people as bigger classes make it difficult to get around everyone, resulting in less time I can spend with each person.  A larger class makes it difficult to spend the time necessary to help people who may be having difficulty with particular techniques.

Once you join the TEAL classes, I can place you on an email list where I email everyone with project details of upcoming lessons.   This will allow the TEAL class attendees to prepare for upcoming lessons in advance so they can move into the lesson proper quickly.
